Access To Recovery Events

Developed for NAMI-NYC. The Urban Justice Center Mental Health Project will share fundamental information about accessing health supports through Medicaid. We will do an overview of eligibility, available services and supports, and provide tips and resources to accessing Medicaid. We will particularly focus on supports for people with mental health concerns, including substance use disorder. We will also hear from the Access to Recovery Coalition (A2R). A2R is a coalition of directly impacted people, peers, and providers. We work to improve access to Medicaid mental health supports in Health and Recovery Plans (HARPs) and HIV Special Needs Plans (HIV-SNPs). Advocates will be present to answer your questions, or, if you want, to follow up with you after the presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basics of how Medicaid works and what services might be available to you
  • Understand who to go to when you have a question, need an advocate for your situation, or want to connect with others to make Medicaid easier to access

A CORE Town Hall Series hosted by the Access to Recovery Coalition (A2R)
