The #HALTsolitary Campaign brings together formerly incarcerated persons, family members of currently incarcerated people, advocates from human rights, health, and faith communities, and other concerned community members throughout New York State to end New York's use of solitary confinement in state prisons and local jails.

Campaign to Close Rikers
The Campaign to Close Rikers seeks to decarcerate, defend the rights of incarcerated people, divest from prisons and jails and redistribute resources to meet people’s needs- like housing, healthcare, education, and employment- and by doing so, create true safety.
MHASC
MHASC (Mental Health Alternatives to Solitary Confinement) coalition successfully advocated for the enactment of the SHU Exclusion Law and continues to work to improve mental health treatment in NYS prisons and end indefinite forensic detention.

Fair Chance for Housing is a coalition of advocates, legal services, human service providers, and people who have experienced housing discrimination.
Daniel’s Law
Daniel’s Law, named in honor of Daniel Prude who was killed by Rochester Police while having a mental health crisis, would make sure mental health crises are treated as a public health issue, not a public safety threat.
CCIT-NYC
Correct Crisis Intervention Today-New York City (CCIT-NYC) is a coalition of activists, advocates, and other community and non-profit members working to transform how New York City responds to the 200,000+ mental health crises calls currently responded to by the NYPD.
Jails Action Coalition
The New York City Jails Action Coalition (JAC) is a grassroots alliance that includes formerly incarcerated individuals and their family members, as well as other community members working to promote human rights, dignity, and safety for people in NYC jails.
Treatment Not Jail
The Treatment Not Jail Act will provide off-ramps from the revolving door of jail and prison for those who are brought into the criminal legal system due to underlying mental health and substance use issues in New York State.
